Jason D Boyd

CEO & Meteorologist

After loosing his hearing at a very young age, Jason grew up oral until he was exposed to the deaf community at Hinds Community College, Raymond, MS. He was enthusiastic to learn the American Sign Language by socializing among his peers; his positive influences have inspired others.

A native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with an emphasis in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University in 1998. After graduation, Jason put his degree on hold while pursing his career in Web Development / Graphic Design for a Mississippi Telecommunication firm. Utilizing the technical skills Jason learned while employed as a Graphic Designer, together with his educational background in weather forecast, Jason created a weather forecast portal to provide weather forecasts for the deaf and hard of hearing communities. “Safety and awareness are my passion for those who sign to help them understand the world around them,” he explains.

When Jason is not giving weather forecasts, he enjoys spending time with his Labrador Retriever, camping, hiking, frequently travels to Texas and Colorado, and star gazing. Jason is a member of both the National Weather Associationand the American Meteorological Society. He is working to obtain a seal of approval and Certified Consultant Meteorologist from the NWA and the AMS.

Jason served on the board as a chairman of the Office on Deaf and Hard of Hearing with the Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation, from 2000 to 2006. Most recently, Jason served as a chairman of the 41st Biennial Conference of Mississippi Association of the Deaf on June 2007.
